Nice to know that "rock stars" can still be relatable every once in a while.Vinylsidinghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06198023841450304504noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1836951213999112327.post-2086013291811835222012-04-03T11:28:58.279-07:002012-04-03T11:28:58.279-07:00Technically the lead vocalist was Sal Valentino, n...Technically the lead vocalist was Sal Valentino, not Ron Elliott (who wrote most of the tracks). I initially was not overly amazed by Beau Brummels the first time I heard them, but when the 1000 Recordings Podcast guys played some clips on their show I went back and listened again. I couldn't help but think of (San Francisco-based) Devendra Banhart. I ended up sending an email to Valentino and doing an interview for my site: http://recordingtherecordings.blogspot.com/2012/03/interview-sal-valentino-of-beau.html It was really interesting to talk to him, especially considering all the great folks he has worked with over the years. Their legacy has been mostly underground, but back in the day they were huge, so it's interesting to hear his thoughts looking back (he is really laid back and not that much into being a "rock star").Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02858966776220305815noreply@blogger.com
